A mountain lion caught in a tree at a Tustin handmade for a novel name to Orange County police, hearth and wildlife businesses on Monday, Nov. 18.
The mountain lion was captured and ultimately moved to a distant forest space after a household observed their canine chasing a “cat” up a tree, said the Tustin Police Department.
The “cat,” truly recognized as a younger male mountain lion, was tranquilized, cared for and ready for transport away from the house at Irvine Boulevard and Holt Avenue by police, hearth crews and California Division of Fish and Wildlife biologists. The lion’s seize occurred in a neighborhood north of the 5 Freeway and east of the 55 Freeway.
He was taken to a processing middle after which safely returned to the wild within the Cleveland Nationwide Forest, in an space farther from individuals and houses, police stated on social media.

Cougar sightings and encounters are nothing new in Southern California. In 2022, one entered an Irvine buying space, shot previous a hair salon, and ended up trapped in a building.
The lions have been euthanized after attacking kids this fall Calabasas and in 2020 Lake Forest.
