A 24-year-old man was hit within the head with a hammer whereas speaking to his girlfriend on a Bronx sidewalk Sunday afternoon, in response to police.
A suspect with instruments snuck up behind the sufferer and hit him throughout the road from 1445 Nelson Avenue within the Highbridge neighborhood round 12:45 p.m., police stated.
The sufferer was taken by medics on the spot minutes later.
He had a gauze bandage wrapped across the prime of his head to the underside of his chin as blood gave the impression to be dripping from the again of his head, in response to pictures taken on the scene.
At one level, the sufferer, who was shirtless, laid down on a garment to obtain first support.
He was taken in steady situation to St. Barnabas.
The attacker fled on foot after the assault and has not but been arrested, police stated.
